ACC would not be possible without the incredible volunteers that serve on our Serve Teams every week.
Around the Community & Around the World
There are people in the community that need a little help, but how do we find them or know exactly what they need? We partner with and support organizations that specialize in identifying those we’re able to help.
Each year, ACC adopts low-income families in partnership with Wheeling Township to make sure they have gifts under their Christmas trees. Instead of gifts in 2021, Wheeling Township asked for $50 gift cards.
We met (and exceeded) our goal to collect gift cards for 50 people – 50 for 50! Thanks for your generosity.
Every year, we participate in Habitat for Humanity’s Paint-a-thon. Volunteers paint the homes of those with limited resources who are seniors, veterans, or have a disability and can’t do the work themselves. Homeowners not only get a fresh home exterior, they get a little peace of mind.
This is a great opportunity for those who like to get their hands dirty (and painty).
Fridays from 12:00-1:00pm
We care about those in our community and are committed to helping fill one of our most basic needs. Especially in times when financial security is uncertain, we want to make sure everyone has food to put on the table.
Our on-site food pantry is stocked with nonperishable food items and toiletries that are donated by ACC families. Anyone from the surrounding community can use our store-style pantry. Guests can pack two bags with the items they need and know they will use.
If you’d like to make a donation of nonperishable food or toiletries, you can drop it off on Friday between 12:00-1:00pm or on Sunday morning.
Feed My Starving Children
We regularly volunteer at FMSC by hand-packing specially formulated meals for malnourished children around the world. The meals are distributed to those in need in over 70 countries. When you volunteer with FMSC, you save lives. Every day.
Children as young as 8 years old can participate with a parent. You’ll not only help you save lives, you’ll learn about the country the meals you packed will be distributed in.
We also financially support several missionaries who serve around the world. Partnered with local churches, they spread the good news of Jesus Christ.
Their desire is to see the Word of God change the lives of tribal people who previously never had access to it. They are currently working at the Florida office of Ethnos 360. Brion and Annette have four children – Eli, Jonah, Liviana, and Milo.
John and Bonnie have been serving with Wycliffe in Papua New Guinea since 1987. They now live in Florida where they care for elderly parents. John coaches translators from 11 languages and makes annual visits to work with them in person. Bonnie serves the broader Bible Translation movement by serving on the board of directors of both Wycliffe USA and Jaars.
Zak and Laura (with Anna and Ty) serve in Papua New Guinea as translation advisors to the Leipon people group. They support the Leipon team in Bible translation, literacy, and Scripture use work, helping to give Leipon believers access to the Bible in their own language.
Please pray for the Pfaff family as Jerry passed away on September 16. Sue plans to return to Papua New Guinea sometime after her bereavement leave.
Since 1988 Jerry and Sue have been working with the people who speak the Nali language on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea. Currently they are also training others so that people from over a dozen more languages from Manus Province, PNG, can work together on Bible translation and language development in their own languages.
For 17 years the Tabbs served in eastern Africa, mostly in Uganda. In 2007 they returned to the United Sates where Waller works as a translation consultant to Ugandan translation teams. He works with them remotely and makes several trips to Uganda each year.
Adult Missions Trip
Upcoming Short Term Mission Trip: Honduras
Each year we do missions around the world. For the past few years we have been partnering with organizations in Honduras to serve the people in the second poorest country in Central America. We are currently working with El Ayudante Honduras. Our youth have been serving in different areas in the United States. Consider joining us on one of our trips!
We also financially support a number of missionaries who serve around the globe. They serve in different areas and in different ways. Partnered with local churches, they all work to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.
